Arcamedia was one of the first companies to create an interactive CD-ROM of courtroom depositions. During a trial it is often necessary to play an expert witness’s testimony, without requiring the witness to be present. There are several other reasons to do this too, for example, in large cases there may be literally hundreds of hours of deposition video. When a trial lawyer is presenting his/her case and they need to show a particular video, it may take up to an hour or more to do it from a physical videotape library. However, with our technique the depositions were indexed and compressed onto CD-ROM's, which allowed instant access to any clip. The lawyer does not need to make the judge wait or ask the court for a recess or worse yet not even show the video. Impact of presentation is not only maintained, but also enhanced with this powerful yet simple presentation tool.
