Arcamedia was asked by the two companies of Thomson International Publishing to create a series of samplers that would be used to demo all of Wadsworth Publishings and Heinle and Heinle Publishings many educational software titles. It was a daunting task due to the nature of different software and different operating systems that created many different incompatibilities. Arcamedia was asked to not only create a CD-ROM, but also a fleet of 500 Hitachi notebooks, that would be used by Thomsons sales representatives to demo titles to customers. Between the two companies and some auxiliary software from Thomson, there were over 60 pieces of software to sort through, test, adjust (in some cases), and place within a multi operating system interface. The project had a tight deadline and was to be completed in two months. Arcamedia had a team of beta testers, programmers, and designers working night and day to meet the deadline. The project was a huge success and we got all of their new and very old software to function within our interface. |
